Baer Loud on Strike Endgame and Arbitration
President Baer of the Philadelphia and Reading says the strike can only end when the miners return to work and outside interference is futile. President Fowler of the New York Ontario and Western adds that talks and possible arbitration depend on miners resuming work, with no agreement until that happens. Reports from Wilkesbarre suggest major developments within a day or two as Mitchell and advisers withhold details. Steady Employment. On Trial for Murder at Exeter Shaft Case
Peter Lenouskey, a young Lithuanian, faces trial for murder in the Exeter shaft case from February 11. The defendant, alleged to have plotted with accomplice Vincent Zorombo, is linked to Sinnick’s killing. Sinnick later died in Pittston Hospital. Confessions were given by both men. juror W. E. Freeland directors Brogan presided at the regular meeting. Slattery announced committees including Buildings and Grounds Slattery Shelhamer McGeehan and Textbooks Buckley Potterman Purcell. A $20,000 bond for Timony as treasurer with sureties was approved. Auditors report ordered published and bills paid. Tax levy set at 13 mills for building and 13 mills for school purposes plus $1 occupation tax. Foster township board met with pro tem officers. auditors report published. monthly meeting set for the first Saturday at 7 p.m.

Queer Horse Trade Leads to Dispute and Flight
Last week Cyrus Shearer of Butler and BE Smith of Freeland traded horses and both appeared satisfied. On Sunday morning Shearer found his new horse missing and the one he traded to Smith in its place. Smith, a DS engin eer, had swapped back, and Shearer threatens to sue. John Sheebo, 28, was stabbed to death by Martin Collar, 55, at Lansford after a wedding celebration. Collar was arrested in South Bethlehem. Fire alarm gear was moved from inside to outside the electric light building to avoid dust interference.
