Reversed Verdict in Steel Town Water Case

The supreme court in Philadelphia reversed the Luzerne verdict of 82,000 damages in the Jeddo tunnel water dispute between Steven son and Ebervale Coal Company, granting a new trial. Peter Magagao, head of the Tirolese Beneficial Society, received a gold medal from members at a Sunday meeting.

Magagna Honored by Tirolese Society with Gold Medal

The Tirolese Society, praising Mr Magagna for nine years of faithful service and un tiring effort, presented him a gold medal and re elected him president. Members lauded his kindness generosity and work in support of the Tirolese community. He was surprised but thanked them, then re elected as president at adjournment.

Ten year old girl shoots brother with loaded rifle

Nellie Snyder of Sandy Run pulled a loaded Mlobert rifle left outside the home by her father Albert. Believing it unloaded she fired at her brother Tarry, age 5, through a window. The boy suffered glass and bird shot injuries to the face and neck but is not seriously harmed. Nellie is grief stricken by the accident.

Married This Morning at St. Ann's Church

John ONeill of Upper Lehigh and Bridget McElwee of Freeland wed at 9 am at St. Ann's Catholic Church. Rev M J Fallihee officiated with Bernard Keenan as groom’s man and Ella McTague as bridesmaid. They will honeymoon in Philadelphia after a breakfast in Hazleton and plan to set up home in Upper Lehigh.

Fiftieth Anniversary Noted At Miners Mills
