Fine weather in town drew many for sleigh rides. Horses and sleighs were in high demand as residents with outfits enjoyed the clear day. At noon nearly no hireable horses or sleighs were available, heightening envy among those unable to secure an outing.
In the First ward Republicans claim a majority and fund raising to back their ticket while Democrats name Woodring Gillespie and Welsh. Foster township hosts a fierce race with both parties organized and confident of victory. Republican efforts in the Fifth ward center on unseating Ward amid internal party doubts.
