New York adopts stricter snowmobile noise limits
Commissioner Alexander Aldrich announced New York snowmobile models meeting the new noise abatement law may be sold. The 1972 act sets 82 dba ceiling for post June 1 1972 units, tested to SAE 192 standard, with 73 dba limit for models after June 1 1974. The division will deny 1973 models not compliant. manufacturers, dealers, and the public are urged to cooperate.
