Senior Troop 50 held its first meeting on September 9 at Mrs Ritter's with ten girls. Officers were elected including Lois Hubbard patrol leader and Carol Barber as assistant patrol leader. A welcome party for new members was set for September 23 at Sue Benjamin's, plus a weekend overnight at Watkins Glen State Park on October 25 and 26. Cadette Troop 184 also met, electing leaders and planning a welcome party for incoming seventh graders. A bicycle trip to Sheldrake on September 27 with ten girls occurred after permission slips were issued.

Interlaken Post 462 of the American Legion opens weekly at 4 p.m. during its 50th anniversary year to recruit new members and reinstate former ones.
