Mrs. Bea Sproul chairs the Civic Improvement Committee and has organized volunteer workers since before Memorial Day. Main Street now features flower pots and window boxes filled with petunias, and in the past two weeks the hillside opposite the P and C store received attention.
Local graduates include Dana Harris BS in Ag Business Management plans a masters at Buffalo. William Fales BS in Marketing moves to 4 H work in Saratoga. Jennifer Abrahams Marx BA in Chinese History will continue study at Cornell. Peter Younger BA in Physics studies nuclear physics at Boston University. Robert Wilson BS in industrial and labor relations will attend Buffalo Law School.
The Trumansburg Central School District will hold its annual meeting at 7:30 p.m. July 12 in the Elementary School Auditorium Building 2. The budget for 1966-67 will be presented and the Treasurer’s Report read. Voting on the budget and one five year board seat takes place July 13 from 2 to 8 p.m. in Building 2. Petitions for board candidacy are available in the District Office and must be returned signed by 25 qualified voters no later than June 28.
William H Meeker Jr of Trumansburg was a member of the Ithaca College freshman track team this spring. The Cubs went seven wins and one defeat, placing second at the Oswego Invitational. It was Ithaca’s best Bomber fresh track season, with depth aiding the win. Meeker is in the School of Health and Physical Education and resides at RD 3.
