Schooley's Inc. at 152 E State St Ithaca founded 1937 incorporated 1940 now owned by David L Wrisley. The firm sells diamonds mounted jewelry and loose gems plus watches repairs engraving and custom sketches for customer approval. It emphasizes customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Inlet Park Marine Inc operates from 435 Taughannock Boulevard Ithaca next to the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Established 1932 and formerly Freeman Marine, it offers 46 slip covered storage plus a large showroom with 1972 Trojan Uniflite Glastron Penn Yan boats and Mercury motors. The firm provides service, slip rental, canoe rentals, parts, and boating accessories, with manager Stuart F. Wilson since 1971.
Ithaca Bike and Hobby Shop at 530 State Street, formerly Shepherd's Bike Shop, has over 30 years in the bicycle business and now offers a full hobby line. Owner Ralph Button notes models for air, land, and sea plus Estes rockets, Hubby car kits, and a complete service department for bikes and parts.
Holton's Pharmacy on Main Street has served Trumansburg since the 1880s. Founded by Isaac Holton and Irwin Horton the store survived the 1935 flood and re established on the hill after rebuilding. Ownership changes include Lawrence Hymes joining in 1951, then sale to Charles Stewart and Arlston Huff in 1954, Howard Tubbs purchasing in 1968. The shop today features a modern prescription center and gift shop with greeting cards Russell Stover candy and Ambassador candles. Hours are 9 to 9 weekdays 9 to 6 Saturdays and 9 to 1 Sundays and holidays.
The Farrell Messler Agency, owned by Edward and Ruth Farrell since 1953, remains a fixture in Trumansburg's Main Street business district. Originating as Hunt Agency, it was bought by Frank S. Bower in 1916 and later merged with D W Messler. The firm offers general insurance with strong local service and civic involvement, making it a notable village anchor.
The Wright family James V. Jr and James III with wives Ethel and Josephine own the Redwood Dairy Bar and Restaurant on Main Street near the fairgrounds in Trumansburg. They bought the business November 1 1971 and now operate year round with varied hours and a menu featuring homemade donuts chili hot sandwiches pies and ice cream served by Ethel and Josephine Wright. James Jr works at Cornell and James drives local school buses while Cheryl a high school senior helps afternoons and evenings.
