Winter Blizzard Strands Townspeople and Firemen
Central New York endured a heavy blizzard starting Friday with over 20 inches of snow and 6 foot drifts. In Ovid about 100 people sheltered at the fire house from several states as volunteers used snowmobiles to assist. The Interlaken and Trumansburg fire departments worked nonstop to aid stranded travelers and deliver necessities while emergency calls increased.
