Snowmobile races return to Trumansburg Fair Grounds this Sunday February 8 starting at 1 p.m. Andy Andrews says track improvements are made and $850 in cash and trophies will be awarded across Powder Puff and stock and modified classes including divisions up to 800cc. Riders must register by noon at P and C parking lot. admission is $1 for adults with free entry for under 12.

Questionnaires to gauge need for a Parent Teacher group

Interlaken Group opposes trailer park plan at town meeting
Mechanic Street residents protested a proposed trailer park north of their homes at the Covert Town Board meeting. Narcotic Guidance Council forms at Trumansburg
TRUMANSBURG The community forms a narcotic guidance council to address drug issues in the school district. A steering committee will include a lawyer, a minister, and a doctor, with sponsorship by the UllysSes Town Board. The council will undergo five weeks of training and coordinate with the state narcotics council under the Duryea bill of 1968.

Flags for Main Street campaign formed in Trumansburg
TRUMANSBURG The Chamber of Commerce formed a Flags for Main Street campaign during a luncheon. President Robert Herrick requested cotton American flags from Thomas Bennett of the American Legion for a Spring campaign to fly in front of Main Street businesses on patriotic holidays. The chamber will sell flags to businesses and seek flag loans. A local director will join the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce, and a nominating committee was named to select officers for April start. The chamber will support Voorheis Summer Theater and monitor progress of the Narcotic Guidance Council.
