South Seneca Central School plans a half day on September 4 with full day sessions on September 5. Enrollment totals include about 1650 at Lodi, 680 at Ovid, and 770 at Interlaken. Orientation for new faculty is September 3, with a general session for all at 11:00 a.m. in Ovid.
Outch Personal Mention lists numerous visitors and travels in the region. Elmer Burnham visits cousin Emma Vreeland in Troy Pa while Jim Smithers sees relatives in Penn Yan. Many others travel to Rochester New York City Canada and beyond, with weddings, engagements, and upcoming military plans noted.
Frances Jean Fleischman daughter of Frances Fleischman and Gerald Sturdevant son of Clara Smithers and Elmer Burnham will marry in June or July 1969. The bride is a 1967 Willard School of Nursing graduate and staff nurse at Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital Bath. Sturdevant is a 1964 Ovid Central School graduate and 1967 Williamsport Area Community College alumnus serving as an electrician in the Seabee Division at Port Hueneme California.
The Darling Dance Studio announces last minute registration for children. Interested persons may visit Thursday or Friday August 23 and 30 from 2 30 to 5 30 p m or Saturday August 31 from 9 a m to 12 noon during registration hours. Classes begin Monday September 2 1968.
The school calendar lists June 16 to 20 Regents exams with Friday closing at noon. On June 22 graduates will assemble in Harold F Miller Gymnasium and Interlake in D P Norton Gymnasium for commencement ceremonies.
Forty one Ovid high school physics instructors completed a six week NSF sponsored program at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. President Harry P. Storke awarded the certificates and praised service to mankind through education. Among the graduates is Robert H. Shaw of Trumansburg, a faculty member at Ovid Central High.
Shining Light chapters plan a covered dish supper September 11 at 6 30 p m at the Masonic Temple. Members should bring their own table service and a dish to pass. The meeting will follow the supper.
