Merchants protest Interlaken refuse pickup contract

Merchants gathered at Interlaken Village Board meeting to oppose a new garbage service deal with Seymour Disposal. The contract raises monthly fees from 150 to 200 dollars for once weekly pickup and excludes businesses and the school, with bills reaching 30 dollars monthly for merchants. The board noted prior informal practices and budget limits, while merchants urged equal service as homeowners. Trustees urged negotiations with Seymour and a workable arrangement.
