Interlaken Central School District announces 1966 67 tax rates and valuation changes due to state equalization. Assessed value rises to 3 209 000 with true value near 9 697 000 and a tax rate of 14 23 per thousand. Also notes gift of Isabel Barr books to Cazenovia College and Grange 1227 picnic date and tax collection schedule with delinquent fees.
Nettie Leonard and Vivian Leonard spent the weekend with Mrs. Nettie Leonard in Syracuse relations. Judy Eastman visited Stephanie Chaffee in Trumansburg while Brenda Parsons stayed with Mary Eastman in Oak Hill. Fire damaged an unoccupied Holmes House on West Hill. Several families gathered for slides from Vivian’s Canadian trip. A group headed to Camp Barton for a week. Local visits included Mrs. Cora Black in Rochester and Stephen Wixom with Lydia Kelsey in Marcellus. Apple bounty noted with a request for Cornell bulletin 1973 Apples-a Favorite Food from Roberts Hall Ithaca.
Mrs Arthur Knight spent last week in the Adirondack Mountains with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Terryberry of Ovid. The Brinkerhoffs from Lodi Center Road camped in Canada. The Howtons from Belton, Missouri visit Mrs. Howton's parents and relatives before heading to Kentucky. Betty Lou and Cheryl Stanzak of Auburn visited their brother Wells Stanzak and family at their trailer opposite Townsendville Cemetery. Christine Jager attended Girl Scout Camp Comstock near Ithaca. John Knight attended a Catskill auction as part of a farm home sold for real estate development. Thomas Morrow works at Sylvania Electric Products in Seneca Falls.
Interlaken American Legion Home hosts bloodmobile from 3 PM to ? PM to boost defense quotas. Rochester Regional Red Cross Blood Program aims to raise 6 000 extra pints for armed forces needs with support from National Guard. Donors aged 18 to 59 may give every eight weeks, time under an hour.
Over 110 youths attended the Interlaken program daily for six weeks with prizes awarded for events such as Peanut Hunt and Balloon Throw. Activities included visits to Roseland Park, Shelldrake Point swimming, Willard range practice, and a Babe Ruth Team season with mixed results.
