Interlaken Student Airman David Slocum Transfers To Myrtle Beach
David Slocum son of Mr and Mrs Donald Slocum of Interlaken recently returned to his Base at Myrtle Beach South Carolina after leave. He married Cheryl Weston of Trumansburg while on leave. He trained at Lackland AFB Texas passed the printers three level test and sought a printing career. An admin error altered his unit assignment but he transferred to the Base Consolidated Duplicating Center where he has worked nine months. He passed the printing test at the five level and will be promoted in October and was recommended for Airman of the Month in Myrtle Beach. He credits BOCES Vocational printing training for his service preparation and plans further service education in printing.

The Interlaken Reformed Church Youth Fellowship held a box lunch picnic at Watkins Glen on Saturday July 27. Debbie James and Cathy Ferrand attend Camp Fowler at Speculator this week, the church camp for the Synod of Albany. Sunday School runs Sundays 9 15 a.m. and Morning Worship at 10 00 a.m. Jack Kopsa and Daniel Hayes attended as ring bearer. Mrs Lincoln is a 1968 graduate of Charles O Dickerson High School Trumansburg. Mr Lincoln a 1965 Interlaken Central School graduate serves in the U S Army stationed at Fort Belvoir Virginia.
