Mayoral remarks and civic events mark April community programs
On April 29 1972 a color guard and Boy Scout Troop 13 selections by 7th and 8th grade chorus featured Dale Baker as master of ceremonies with Vr Allen Treman and Dr Richard Lewis directing. The event included a free campaign by Cornell plantations, unveiling a monument with guest speaker Congressman John Terry. A tree planting and flag presentation honored Rex Martin Hardin and guests Mr and Mrs Allen Treman Mr and Mrs Charles Treman Mr and Mrs Arthur Treman with hostess Mrs Esther Hendry and Mrs Hilda Murphy assisting.
