Final Preparations Made For PTA Carnival
Fredericksburg PTA plans its annual carnival on Monday Sept 30 with Mrs Erwin Simon and Mrs Felix Mueller Jr leading the Ways and Means Committee. Students and clubs host midway activities, a senior class variety show, dunking pond and fish pond while FBLA rummage and snow cone sales raise funds. Tickets available at the Information Booth. kitchen offerings include Mexican plate, chili beans and tamales to go.

Accident report from Kerr and Harper injuries and damage
A two car crash on a Farm to Market road involved W. C Moos of Honda and drivers Balser and Davidson. Moos suffered back and neck injuries and was taken to a Kerrville hospital while Balser and Davidson were transported to Fredericksburg. The 1961 Mercury and 1963 Ford sustained extensive damage. Earlier in Harper, Wallace Brown aged 70 sustained a fractured hip and A R Carklidge was not seriously hurt. Brown remained in Fredericksburg Hospital and Clinic.

Gillespie and Pedernales Soil Conservation districts back the Williamson Creek watershed project. Desmond Sagebiel reports 19 700 acres affected across Gillespie Blanco Kendall counties with 62 landowners and 54 cooperators. Estimated annual benefit 10 400 dollars versus 8 000 cost. Further survey pending state board decision.

Rainfall and weather records noted in city report
Area residents on the north side report five to six inches of rain. Official tallies show Dietel's gauge at 0.27, 1.68, 0.28, and 0.92 inches across Thursday to Sunday, the rainiest month since June 1962. City year to date totals 11.95 inches, nine inches below normal for nine months. Temperature fell from highs near 97 to lows around 81 after the rainfall.
