Wolf Club Records Large Predator Removals

Lightning sparks blaze at Dietrich Ranch barn

A Saturday morning storm started a fire that destroyed the Emil Dietrich Ranch barn, blamed on a lightning strike between 4 and 5 am. About 50 bushels of oats, corn, hay, harness, a Ford truck and other equipment were lost. building insurance was $750 with a $1,000 building value. Nearby, a herd of 26 goats sheltering under a tree on the Eddie Kramer ranch was killed by lightning, and homes of August Zincke and Otto Seipp in Fredericksburg suffered minor lightning damage.
