Local insur ance man August D Stahl announces a bid to contest Mayor Joe Molberg’s April election win. He cites Article 2978A requiring a candidate to file a supporting affidavit and argues Molberg met no such filing. Molberg says he complied and notes Stahl’s name was not on the ballot. Stahl received 168 votes to Molberg’s 453.

Frontier Festival at Fredericksburg High School Thursday
Fredericksburg High School to stage a Frontier Festival in the Public School Auditorium Thursday at 8 p m with the entire student body participating. Willie Mae Habenicht and Othello Tanner will be presented as representatives from the Southwest Texas State College festival, with senior through freshman favorites announced. Rainfall in Southwest Texas Breaks Drought and Fills Tanks
Heavy rain Tuesday and Monday night raised 1.75 to 3 inches in many areas, with Llano recording 3.43 inches. The moisture revived small grains and corn, filled stock tanks, improved pastures across Southwest Texas, and ended a three year drought near San Angelo. Minor crop damage occurred south of Twin Sisters in Blanco county.
