Driver's License Measure Pending In Legislature
Police administrators across states were informed today of an indefinite extension for Texas licenses after April 1. Ralph L. Buell, chief of the licensing bureau, said a bill pending in the legislature would allow reissuance of driving permits expiring after three years. New licenses would be issued by the public safety department rather than tax collectors. Temporary licenses would be given to first permit holders and remain valid until the statute is amended. Chauffeurs licenses remain issued annually and are not affected. Newspapers will be informed of renewal plans later.
