16 Year Old Theft Suspect Nabbed After Gun Found
John Skinner, 16, was taken into custody at the Hugo Usener farm in Hayden Ranch after he was found with a pistol. He confessed to stealing a pickup from R. R. Williams of Wimberley and revealed he had run away from Michigan two weeks earlier. He led officers to the abandoned vehicle on the Austin Highway near Fredericksburg.

Three Gillespie County Scouts Nelson Geistweidt Victor Rode and Gillespie District Scout Commissioner Hans Hannemann left Sunday for Austin to join Central Texas troops bound for the National Boy Scout Jamboree at Valley Forge Pennsylvania. The 600 scouts and 75 leaders began from Washington and arrived in the capital for a sightseeing run before continuing to Valley Forge for events through July 8.
