Postal Receipts in Fredericksburg Grow 16.4 Percent
Postmaster Robert W. Klingelhoefer reports Fredericksburg postal receipts for the year ending June 30 rose 16.4 percent from 1947. Quarterly totals climbed, adding about 400 dollars monthly, with total year gains of 4,804.98 over the prior year. The rise chiefly reflects more local merchant statements mailed, from about 500 to 10,000 pieces monthly. If trends continue, the office could reach 40,000 dollars and upgrade from first to second class.
