August Weirich of Live Oak Community died at his home after a jarzering illness on Wednesday at 2 15 pm. He was 73 years, 5 months and 23 days old. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon by Rev. Arthur Koerner and he was interred in City Cemetery. An obituary will follow in a later issue.
Up to December 13 Gillespie County produced 3684 bales of cotton with 1641 bales ginned in the prior year. James Cunningham editor of the Three Rivers paper paid our office a pleasant call last Friday.

Rev. Sidney Metzger of San Antonio visited his parents Mr. and Mrs. Franz Metzger in town during the holidays. Mr. Bernhard Grenwelge and Brothers of Valley Springs were among visitors in Fredericksburg last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. K. C. Faulkner of San Antonio spent the holidays with the Weber family of this city.
The local railroad committee met last Monday at the Chamber of Commerce to designate nearly the entire right-of-way and to begin securing land in Gillespie county. They aim to obtain cooperation from landowners and to raise funds so construction can start promptly, noting progress hinges on these two steps.
Rapid Air Rodeo, America's greatest flying circus, visits Temple D Smith Field Fredericksburg Texas on January 1 with six ships including a Tri Motor Ford and a powered Aeronca. Lee Abbot, youngest transport licensed pilot, performs high stunts and parachute jumps from 12:30 PM to 5 PM. Local children may jump. admission 25 cents. under 12 free.
Charles Schmidtzinsky longtime Rocky Hill resident dies at home after brief illness at 10:40 Saturday. Funeral Monday at St Marys Church officiated by Father Heckmann. Interment in Catholic Cemetery. Survived by widow Elise and ten children from Fredericksburg San Antonio Texarkana Pecos City Mexico plus two sisters and three brothers, fourteen grandchildren and other relatives. Preceded by one half brother Peter Pape and two sisters.
