Frederick County seeks funding for four paramedics
Frederick County Advanced Life Support plans a budget request to the County Commissioners for four paid paramedics. ALS Coordinator Rick Himes says staffing is needed, with assignments based on where coverage is required due to volunteer shortages. The first four paid paramedics began Dec. 1, staffing Jefferson and Thurmont units weekday midnight to 4 am. Residents reported positive feedback, and volunteers may receive incentives for meals travel and other expenses.
