Man traces route of Underground Railroad slaves
Emmitsburg audience hears Tony Cohen 32 of Silver Spring recount a journey on foot and by train from Sandy Spring to Amherstberg Ontario to trace Underground Railroad routes. He walked nearly half the 800 mile path last year during May to July, carrying a 30 pound pack. He studied the routes for his American University thesis and positions the tale as a protest uniting multicultural America. The talk drew college students and local classes, with Cohen later slated for a documentary film and book.
