A fire before 4 a.m. gutted the tavern and damaged an apartment above at 19931 Wolf Road. James and June Fanning and their 22-year-old son Michael escaped via an upper doorway and ladder. Keith Leonardo's proposal to open a video game parlor with up to 16 machines at 212 South Wolf Road was rejected by Village President Richard Quinn who said the plan violated the village ordinance limiting coin operated machines to four per 250 square feet.
