Arm Busters Championship Arm Wrestling at Lincoln Mall

No ambulance district for LW area faces opposition

Frankfort fire chief Milt Batson and Mokena Fire Chief Del Yunker report limited interest from fire protection districts in forming an ambulance district or private paramedic contract in Frankfort Mokena and New Lenox townships. Hospital officials have not followed up, and districts cite funding and patient choice issues while noting current providers perform adequately though time factors could improve. Attendance tops 700 at township pool in warm spell

The Frankfort township pool in its fourth season drew about 700 visitors daily, with typical days around 450 to 500. Capacity is 550, but many sunbathe. The pool, on Route 30 east of Wolf Road, operates 11 am to 5 pm and 6 to 8:30 pm, with peak hours noon to 3 pm. A 50s theme party is planned for July 23 from 7 to 11 pm, and organizers seek interest in forming a township youth swim team. contact pool director Brian VanDen Berg at 815-469-5971.
