Mokena Fourth of July Parade and Festivities Guide
Today in Mokena the Chamber of Commerce parade themed Mokena Our Kind of Town runs 1 p m after a 10 30 a m worship service. Lineup starts 11 30 a m with antique cars and marching units along Front Street to LaPorte Road. New awards include Judges Favorite and the Mayors Trophy. Crowning of the Teen Queen at 8 p m at Community Park follows Lion's carnival reopening at 2 p m and a 6 p m Beautiful Baby contest. Other events include Elvis impersonator Baby Masters and Chickens from White Hen Pantry. Children will snag balloons and candy during the parade. In Frankfort Square a bicycle parade begins at 10 a m from Fire Station 2 and a dusk fireworks show closes the day at Main Park.
