The village plans a public hearing Monday at 7 30 p m at village hall to gather resident input on bids from Joyce Cable Inc Romeoville and Illinois Community Cablevision Denver for the Frankfort cable franchise. Attending will be board members village officials and company reps as the board weighs a temporary franchise amid negotiations.
Prestwick residents are being surveyed by the Prestwick Homeowners Association to decide whether to incorporate or join an existing municipality. President Joe McElmeel says the topic has long been discussed and the 1983 plan will use questionnaire results to guide research and potential actions.
Frankfort village committee II voices concern over litter along Route 45 and Route 30 areas near Frankfort off the Main shopping center and adjacent lots. Officials plan inspections at Alsip Nursery and other sites to check for code violations while private-property cleanup rights remain restricted. Sewer plant improvements also progress with bond approvals and IEPA talks expected.
In Frankfort four residents including one incumbent and a former trustee filed draw petitions for the three four year terms on the village board to be chosen in the April consolidated election. Names include Kenneth Biel Mel DuBois Ernie Hinrichs and incumbent Richard Krynicki. Filing runs through January 31 with petitions obtainable at the village clerk’s office.
