Project Share tops $15,000 goal for holiday aid
South suburbs rally for Project Share raising nearly $16,000 to fund Christmas food baskets and toys for about 2,500 applicants through Star Publications and six welfare agencies. Donations included $2,421 from Sen. Aldo DeAngelis office and a $2,800 bell-ringer effort by Chicago Heights Kiwanis and Salvation Army. Distribution to six agencies began this week as food baskets feature ham or turkey, rice, vegetables, fruit and bread.
