Postal Facility Opens In Bedford Park South Suburbs
A new South Suburban Management Sectional center began operations in Bedford Park to boost mail service and cut costs for post offices in Frankfort and 97 other south suburban communities. The 190000 square foot site at 6801 West 73rd Street houses mechanized systems processing two million pieces daily for local post offices and 3.5 million for intercity delivery. The $10 million project replaces the Ford City facility, with six high speed letter storing machines and modern automation.
