Floods flood Lincoln Way area sparing major damage
Rain caused flash floods across the Lincoln Way region with basements flooded yards inundated and several streets temporarily closed. Routes 30 45 saw the worst impact with the Route 45 Penn Central underpass blocked by water and Route 30 45 intersections submerged. Officials said damage was mainly to private residences and no major emergencies followed by Friday dawn.

Rain forced the annual Christmas tree lighting to shift from a ceremonial bonfire to the Frankfort police center garage. About 100 attendees enjoyed popcorn balls hot chocolate and donuts with Santa. Prestwick country club and golf course contracts are nearly ready for submission to Arthur T. McIntosh Inc. The 150-acre site, valued over 4 million, would be bought by Prestwick residents via a new Prestwick Golf association. The plan funds a 20 year mortgage at 10 percent with equity members bearing fixed annual pledges totaling 198000 per year. The club would operate on a not for profit basis once purchased.
