Funeral conducted at United Brethren church Hatlin with Rev Hall officiating. Interment followed in the Hinrien old cemetery.

Mrs Sophia Lavman widow of Martin Layne died suddenly at her residence on Wheat Wind street Sunday morning from heart failure aged 84. A German born immigrant who lived in Port Wayne since childhood she was a long time member of St John’s Reformed church and remained a regular attendee. She leaves two children Rudolph and Minnie. Funeral services Wednesday afternoon at 1 o clock at St John’s Church with burial in the city cemetery.
The infant son of Mr and Mrs Gorge Homorzan lay in state Sunday at the residence in the Rath Ine mill district. Funeral services were set for Monday at 8 o clock from the residence and 9 o clock from St Cath oolith church with interment in the Catholic cemetery.
