Fire Destroys Paulding City Hotel. One Fatality
Last Saturday at 3 o clock flames engulfed the City hotel in Paulding Ohio turning the building into a roaring blaze. Forty guests fled in night garments with panic and many leaped from windows while others escaped through doors. Carl Johnson perished in his bedroom as flames closed around him. Daylight showed all others saved though Johnson. The hotel and most contents were destroyed with a loss of about 6000 dollars. The property belonged to F J Champion and the laundry was the fire source.
