The Irish Mrs Patty, a noted bigamist, was released on her own recognizance at Winamac after county commissioners objected to further costly prosecutions. Convicted at two prior trials, she and her daughter paraded the streets in pomp and she is understood to leave the state soon.
Milton E. Hurley was committed after waiving a preliminary examination in Indianapolis. A dispatch from his stepfather Granville Ervlson of Daleville says he will provide proofs for conviction. Police report Hurley is a bad actor while his brother recently faced highway robbery conviction and another relative is in trouble.
Milwaukee on March 28 reports an eight year old girl who calls herself Mary Cull arriving on the 12:40 Northwestern ad train. She says her father is a plasterer likely on Kinzie street and that she intended to visit an aunt in Wisconsin. She will be sent home today.
Irish residents express indignation after General Patrick governor of the Soldier's Home refuses Redpath permission to lecture. He was invited to organize an Irish land league branch at the Home, but Patrick calls Redpath an agitator and blocks the talk.
