Puallup Indians on their reservation perform a war dance and denounce Senator Dawes and the Dawes bill opening their lands. They call President Cleveland a white father and threaten action against what they see as schemes from Dawes and his allies.
The week saw 249 deaths from pneumonia and eleven from grip. Typhus fever cases were nearly eliminated with ten reported last week. total caseload remains unclear.
Jervensonville Indiana March 23 inmates bolted a dining hall blaze spreading to the saddlery shop. The entire prison is endangered with one reported injured. Claggett estimates heavy losses and cannot yet determine the total.

In Great Falls Montana a Chinese man entering the city faced mob action as locals enforced the Geary Law early. Police arrested and jailed the man after a crowd of 300 to 400 gathered, while workers demanded action and received promises he would be removed at once.
Advices from Carrollton report a band of masked men attacked four houses on the Alabama line last night, beating several people and injuring two women. Seven of eleven suspects have been caught. Sam Bowen is gravely injured, and Mrs Bowen and Mrs White were among those assaulted. The violence stems from a Beuford White suit over property. Some arrestees deny knowledge, with several being prominent locals.

New York March 25 A Southern society dinner at its West Twenty fifth street club to honor Mrs Custer drew protests from wounded ex confederates and many readers who condemned public honors for General Custer citing cruel acts against the south and urging restraint from reconciliation gestures.

On a Tuesday afternoon near Calhoun and Columbia streets, an elderly man and Mrs Tons were injured when a pedestrian collision sent the man to the ground bruising his nose and eye. Mrs Tons was unhurt. A Keller’s store clerk, Joe Hutsel, injured his right leg while entering a vehicle. A Pennsylvania brakeman, D C Potta, pinched badly while making a coupling and was taken home at No 28.
