Thaw Nesbit romance dazzled Paris and New York dinners
Paris and New York society headlines center on Harry Thaw and Evelyn Nesbit Thaw. The Pittsburg heir, famed for lavish spending, staged spectacular events from Broadway cab races to a $50 dinner at Waldorf and a $50,000 midsummer Paris dinner at Restaurant Cabat. He wooed Liane de Pougy and others, while Stanford White, noted architect and Nesbit Thaw’s husband, shaped iconic buildings before his death.
