Albert Z. Foster, 58, Terre Haute business leader born in Orange County New York, died of Brights disease at his home. He mentored Fort Wayne interests, helped create Lakeside name, and formed the A Z Foster company to protect his estate. Survived by widow and three daughters and four brothers.
In City Court the ownership of a pocket knife found on Charles B. Terry at Lakeside while faces theft charges is contested. Waddington and Somers testified the knife belonged to the witness. Terry and accomplice Johnson deny theft. Other defendants were fined for intoxication and a drunken scene followed sentencing.
A jury in Kansas City Missouri found John Martin Speyer a circus performer formerly of New Orleans guilty of first degree murder in the death of his son four years ago. He had killed the boy with a throat slash while a mob pursued him after an alleged assault on a young girl. The verdict follows a prior trial that was reheard.
Mrs. Harry K. Thaw testified that she and Thaw were married abroad before the U.S. ceremony and has proof to present at the trial. The assertion followed district attorney notes after Thaw's valet William Bedford, who would have testified for the prosecution, died of appendicitis. Bedford had said Thaw and Miss Nesbit traveled Europe with adjoining rooms and that only a Pittsburgh ceremony occurred after their return.
The news of Harry Thaw’s June 25 fatal shooting of Stanford White reached Mrs. Thaw aboard the Minneapolis off Tilbury on July 3. Jefferson City Missouri July 3 Division No 2 of the supreme court overruled a motion to transfer Mrs Aggie Myers case to the court en banc for a hearing. Her fate rests with the governor. Myers and Frank Hottman were convicted of murdering her husband and sentenced to be hanged. Hottman’s execution is set for September 3 unless postponed.
Thomas C. Rogers longtime Fort Wayne bookkeeper died at his home 1237 West Main Street after weeks in declining health. Funeral arrangements were not listed as the obituary notes death due to infirmities of age.
Native of Camden county New Jersey born April 17 1823 he taught and worked as bookkeeper in Williamsport Pa and Wisconsin before moving to Fort Wayne in 1880 to work for Olds Wheel works. He later joined Allen County Loan and Savings and Fort Wayne Trust. Retired 1902 at 79. Survived by widow and three children with funeral Thursday 2 30 at residence and Lindenwood burial private.

The Saratoga limited on the Delaware and Hudson railway wrecked in Ballston New York with twenty passengers and seven crew aboard. Morris Klenke eleven son of Mr and Mrs Fred Klenke of 1407 Hugh street drowned in a shallow two and a half foot pool on the Pennsylvania company yard. He and other boys were using an old table edge as a raft when the edge tipped and he slid into the water. Helpers called Italian laborers nearby who failed to understand and render aid. In Hamburg on July 3 the great St. Michael church and its 426 foot tower were destroyed by fire. The collapsing tower crushed nearby houses, killing four workers. The blaze spread along Englisheplank Boemische and Kraienkampf streets as wind favored it, with the fire department and volunteers fighting to control the flames.

A tornado at West Station twenty miles north of Waco last night destroyed several residences. Mrs. Mary Allen was badly injured and a man named Adams suffered a broken arm. Adams family homes were reportedly blown about a hundred feet. The town, with about 2,000 inhabitants, suffered a total blackout.
