Slate clock shown as Grand Clock of Delta quarryman
A feature on Humphrey Pritchard of Delta Pennsylvania who built a large slate clock with cathedral chimes, four feet high, using 161 pieces of slate and two dozen screws. The piece praises slate’s versatility and links to an imaginative travelogue on gravity and daily work in cities like Richmond and New York.
