Campbell proposes to sell copper wire to junkers
Albert Campbell proposed Tuesday afternoon to sell thirty five pounds of copper wire to a junk dealer. He went to Huntertown to fetch it but returned without the metal after an unsatisfactory interview with Detective Lenz and was jailed on loitering charges. The next morning he said the wire belonged to him and that the ends were trimmed during farm line work but the claim was rejected by the court, and Judge Skelton fined him ten dollars plus costs. He complained of mistreatment and muttered that it is not a country where a man can sell his own wire without being pinched.
