Schone Veith undertakers at 33 East Berry street report a fire at 9 o'clock Sunday morning causing about $200 in losses. The blaze started in a large cabinet in the rear waterrooms filled with hardware and funeral drapings. Water used by the fire department increased the damage but the flames were extinguished without difficulty. Henry H. Schone was in the rear room shortly before discovery and cannot account for the cause. a dropped match near the cabinet door is considered possible. Loss is insured.

Hugh Gordon of the Pittsburg baggage room received a telegram Sunday notifying the death of his sister in law Mrs James Gordon at Menlo Iowa. The widow of James Gordon, she left seven children ages 6 to 15. Born Miss Sarah Muldoon she formerly lived here and had several friends and some relatives in the area. Her brothers Charles and William Muldoon passed away years ago.
