In Garrett Indiana on January 27 Grace Weaver two and a half year old daughter of Mr and Mrs L E Weaver living three miles west of Avilla underwent a delicate operation at Sacred Heart hospital. Both eyes were removed due to cancerous retina, a year after a diagnosis urged removal. Optician C S Stewart of Auburn performed the two hour operation which was reportedly successful. The child recovered enough to call for a mouth harp and resumed interest in playing as she neared recovery. The case was described as extremely critical and rare in surgical practice.
