Louis Gimm of Cyevenaxp Ohio smashed the twenty four hour record at Cleveland Driving Park finishing at noon with 453 miles and 1,700 yards. He rode the last ten miles faster than 2 minutes 30 seconds per mile and outpaced pacemakers. The previous American mark stood at 407 miles and 84 yards held by W B Twyman of Chicago.

Desperate attack at Getz brickyard ends in jail
A night call from the western suburbs led Sheriff and deputies to the Getz brickyard where two intoxicated desperadoes, a man and a woman named William and Blanch Davis, attacked a guard with a hat pin, tried to stab him, and were swiftly subdued and jailed for fifteen days each. They admitted origins in Indianapolis and claimed to be hunting work.
