Miss Hattie Denel, famed for a remarkable feat, died at 12:30 yesterday in Iowa. Friends and relatives watched at her bedside as her pulse faded and respiration slowed. she had refused water and food, remaining semi comatose, with a body weight of fifty two pounds indicating death by starvation.
In Washieton on April 14, Senator Dawes charged a Democrat offered Mahone the sergeant at arms seat for a vote. Democrats pressed for the name while Harris demanded Dawes name the Democrat or doubt the accusation. The exchange grew heated as Butler and Dawes clashed and the chamber’s bitterness resurfaced.

In Moncie Indiana on April 18 G S Maddy of Boyce's shoe store was killed at Manaton Wisconsin. He rode a train to an off platform and attempting to reboard while moving was thrown between coaches. He died within fifteen minutes. his body was nearly severed at the hips. His life was insured for 3000 dollars in Hartford Accident Insurance Co.
Charles French, trustee of Perry township, was accidentally killed during a morning hunting trip and found shortly after he left home in Evansville on April 13.
Jeremiah OCalaghan, one of the oldest residents, dies at Rushvit1Ez, Indiana, in mid April. Local figures recall his long life and public service as neighbors mourn the loss.

Cincinnati April 18. Newly installed Mayor Wm Means issued a proclamation Saturday to enforce laws forbidding Sunday theatrical performances. He sent notices to all theater managers stating enforcement. Sunday the usual theaters performed over the Rhine and six arrests were made on his orders.
Henry Dueron, a colored man, was hanged Friday afternoon in Arkansas at Ds Arc. The execution drew several thousand witnesses. He confessed in a brief speech, then fell twelve feet when the rope broke, dying instantly. Dueron had killed his first wife years earlier without justice.
The French consul general presses the Bey of Tunis to allow French troops on Tunisian soil. the Bey resists, warning he cannot bear the responsibility for a step likely to cause fatal consequences. A French gun boat near Tarbarkah faced fire from a small craft along the coast.

Sruteton Bay Wisconsin April 19 William Cooney the lunatic held at No 94 North Clark Street Chicago worked in the woods here last winter. During the last snow blockade he stayed ten days at a Bay View hotel and ate nothing but water. He registered from Fitchburg Massachusetts and seemed intelligent. He is suspected to have gone directly to Chicago after leaving Bay View.
Four youths aged nine to fourteen were caught ransacking the Eastern Railroad freight office in Lawrence and attempting to force the safe. They had broken into a stationary store and coal office earlier and admit prior burglaries, aiming to rob a carriage factory and another establishment that night.
Agnes Paine aged five months died after clothing caught fire at 300 East 33d Street. Her mother suffered fatal burns while trying to extinguish the blaze. The grandmother, rushing to help, was injured when she fell and broke her neck. Mother and child died in hospital within days.
