Three Fort Wayne suspects arrested after train incident

Huntington Herald reports Robert Blair from Galion and two Fort Wayne men Henry Blake of Ewings street and Fred Burke connected to a disturbance on a 9:01 Wabash train. Blair fled, others were restrained with revolvers drawn. They faced fines of $9.80 and authorities were notified.

Mob tar and feather fireman in Morton Minnesota

A mob of twenty to thirty masked men dragged a fireman from his bed in Morton to a secluded spot where he was tarred and feathered then rode him on a rail and hanged him from a tree. The fireman is in critical condition and the Redwood county grand jury may hear the case.

An incident last evening near Ind City ended with Warren Blackwell, a well known but troubled farmer, shot and killed by Deputy Sheriff Revette ap at about 6 o clock. Blackwell was described as wealthy and quarrelsome when drinking. Details remain unclear.

Frightful Fall at World’s Fair Injures Chicago Workers

Charles Tritschler, son of John P. Tritschler of 7 Fulton Street, narrowly survived a fatal scaffold collapse at the world’s fair grounds. Five workers were injured or killed when a heavy material track toppled a scaffold, sending men crashing to the ground. Tritschler, a 24-year-old plumber, was sent home from Cook County Hospital in a pitiable condition but later began to recover with hopeful prospects.

Snake from Honduras touring store as crowd views vivid skin

A lively nonpoisonous snake from Honduras, four feet long and green highlighted by its delicate shade, was brought into a store by William Wage and placed in a covered box.
