Army casualty list adds 108 names in latest tally

The Associated Press reports 108 names on the army casualty list for June 8, grouping by killed in action 30, died of wounds 14, airplane accident 4, other causes 6, disease 6, wounded severely 25, wounded undetermined 17. Officers listed include Captain Rufus F Montgall of Kansas City and Lieutenant Hamlet P Jones of Kaufman Texas. Two Indiana soldiers die of wounds. names include Corporal William Robbins and Private Charles A Smith. The list also names many others killed in action, died of wounds, or by other causes, with corrections and updates for missing or returning-to-duty personnel.

Believe Mother Killed Her Babe in Elkhart

Elkhart Ind June 8 Mrs H Klingar 41 and her eleven month old daughter Phylla were found dead in their home. She is believed to have killed the child by poisoning then killed herself by swallowing the remainder. The husband H F Klingar found the bodies on returning home from an afternoon of recreation.
