Joseph Linthicum, 82, a Black hotel porter, was stabbed to death by his wife Sallie Linthicum after a drunken quarrel. Sallie initially denied but confessed to the killing and a brother Arthur Withers was arrested. Sallie and Joseph had prior fights. Linthicum hailed from Hawesville Kentucky and his wife from Brandenburg Kentucky.
