Logging tramway disaster in Texas kills seven
At Doucette near Woodville Texas the Nebraska Lumber Company tram engine boiler exploded killing seven men instantly and seriously injuring three others. Victims include A L Doucette president of the company engineer Grant Ham, foreman Charles Walforth, and mill hands known as Frenchy. Debris and iron rained down as the cause remains uncertain with theories ranging from low water and sediment in the boiler to a possible track incident.
