J M Barrett attorney for the street tar monopoly filed the companys contract for a franchise over the Leo road on the Swift farm line. Evansville Ind Jan 13 Truman Dodge a contractor disappeared last Thursday and was found yesterday in Rahms salt pool with a bullethole in his forehead. An empty pistol lay nearby. It appears his own hand caused death by shooting himself then falling into the water to drown if the bullet failed. He left a wife and three children and had no known troubles or illness.

Columbus report notes Hor. William McKinley ends his second term as Ohio governor today. Gen. Asa S. Bushnell of Springfield succeeds him with a 12 o'clock inauguration and a parade likely drawing 10,000 participants. Bushnell hosts a capitol reception in the evening.
