Four Men Drown Crossing Dam on St. Joseph River
Four men in a boat were swept over the dam near Leo on the St. Joseph river while trying to cross. Frank Dailey aged 34 and Joseph Bevard aged 30 drowned, Orange Maxfield and George Arnold were witnesses. Arnold survived. Bodies not recovered, coroner and deputy sheriff went to the scene. The men were prominent farmers from St. Joe township on a fishing trip.
