Lipkie Killed in Laporte Saloon Fight

In Laporte Indiana William Kemper and John Lipkie of Otis engaged in a friendly boxing contest in a saloon. Kemper struck Lipkie in the abdomen, Lipkie collapsed and died the next day. The coroner has not ruled yet and a grand jury investigation is expected. Kemper was a Monon Railroad conductor and former township official.
