Forest Park's Golden Jubilee and 1934 Revival
In 1934 Forest Park welcomed prosperity as Prohibition ended and saloons reopened. The village planned a March 24 50th anniversary of Harlem incorporation, a large April 16 ceremony at Grant White School, and a mid June 50th Anniversary Sale. A further August Old Settlers Picnic drew 10,000 residents for games, dancing, and free refreshments, with a Palm Garden dinner and a Forest Theatre showing.
